Claudeforce: What the Salesforce-Anthropic Partnership Means for Your Business

On 26 August 2026, Salesforce and Anthropic announced Claudeforce - an expanded partnership that puts Claude's reasoning to work inside Salesforce's data, workflows and governance, and puts Salesforce's CRM inside Claude itself. Here is what it includes, what you can use today, and what to fix first.

Two moves, one partnership

Claudeforce works in both directions. Salesforce moves into Claude, so a seller can work their pipeline from the Claude app. Claude moves into Salesforce, as the reasoning model behind Agentforce and the default model in Slack.

The name matters more than it looks. Until now Salesforce has kept the "force" suffix for its own products, such as Agentforce. This is the first time it has attached it to another company's.

Salesforce inside Claude

The first release is a Salesforce plugin for Claude with 37 prebuilt sales skills. Meeting prep, deal health reviews and pipeline reviews run against live Salesforce data, and a seller can draft the follow-up email and update the record without switching windows.

The part that matters for your admins: actions route back through Salesforce. Your permissions, validation rules and approval logic still apply, and one admin connection manages authentication for the whole team. Claude does not get a side door into your CRM.

Claude inside Salesforce and Slack

Inside Salesforce, Claude becomes the reasoning model for the Atlas Reasoning Engine, which is what decides what an Agentforce agent does next. It is the default model for Agentforce Vibes and Agentforce Coworker, and you can select it in Agent Builder.

For banks, insurers and other regulated businesses, Salesforce is offering Claude through Amazon Bedrock inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary, so customer data stays within the platform your compliance team already approved.

In Slack, Claude is now the default model behind Slackbot. Salesforce says Slackbot saved its own staff 8.1 million hours a year on an annualised basis, doubling quarter on quarter.

What you can use today

Not all of it yet. The Salesforce plugin for Claude is with selected pilot customers now, with an open beta expected in September 2026. More prebuilt skills are due from late 2026. Salesforce has not published pricing or packaging, and says both may change.

So the useful question for the next quarter is not whether to buy Claudeforce. It is whether your Salesforce data is ready for an assistant that will read all of it.

The catch: it reasons over what you already have

An assistant that preps a meeting from your CRM is only as good as the CRM. If opportunities sit at the wrong stage, contacts are duplicated and half the pipeline lives in a spreadsheet, Claude will summarise that mess clearly and confidently.

That is why the preparation work is unglamorous: clean, connected data, stages that match how your deals really move, and permissions set up properly, because every action now respects them.

Four things to do before the beta

1
Check your permission model
Claude acts with each user's Salesforce access. Review profiles and sharing rules now, before an assistant makes the gaps visible.
2
Fix the pipeline data it will read
Stage definitions, duplicate accounts and missing close dates. Deal health reviews are only useful if the deals are recorded honestly.
3
Pick one team and one skill
Start with meeting prep or pipeline review for a single sales team. Measure the hours saved before you roll out further.
4
Decide where Claude runs
If you are regulated, confirm whether you need the Amazon Bedrock option inside the Salesforce Trust Boundary before any pilot starts.
