With Boomi April 22, 2026 · Cruise Tasik Putrajaya

A working government app, built in 26 minutes

We did it again - and this time, the conversation went even deeper. Telcowin and Boomi returned to Putrajaya Lake for another invitation-only afternoon with leaders from Malaysia's public sector.

Cruise & Connect returned to Putrajaya Lake, where Telcowin and Boomi welcomed leaders from Malaysia's public sector for another invitation-only afternoon of conversations around AI, connected data, and the future of digital government.

As organisations continue exploring AI, one message echoed throughout the event: successful AI doesn't begin with the model - it begins with connected data. Many agencies already have the information they need, but it's often spread across different systems, departments, and applications. Bringing those pieces together is what enables AI to deliver meaningful outcomes.

The afternoon featured two engaging sessions from Michael Bachman and Jeremy Eastburn, who shared global perspectives on AI, integration, and the opportunities ahead for Malaysia. From the country's growing investments in digital infrastructure to the importance of developing future-ready talent, the discussions challenged attendees to think beyond technology and focus on building the right foundations for long-term transformation.

One of the highlights of the event was a live demonstration where Jeremy built a working application in just 26 minutes using AI on the Boomi Platform. More than a showcase of speed, it demonstrated how connected data across different departments can accelerate innovation, simplify processes, and help organisations deliver better services without replacing their existing systems.

"The greatest thing - in less than 30 minutes, actually I think it was 26 minutes - we were able to take an idea and prototype it and document it and come away with a real potential deliverable that is now defined, and people really understand what it is and how it could work."
Greg McCreanor

As always, Cruise & Connect was more than a technology event. It was an opportunity to exchange ideas, share experiences, and explore how collaboration between people, technology, and data can shape the next chapter of digital transformation in Malaysia's public sector.

We thank Boomi for partnering with Telcowin once again and for bringing global expertise to Malaysia through meaningful conversations that continue to inspire organisations on their transformation journey.

"Very hopeful with the future of AI in Malaysia. As we spoke about on the boat today, Malaysia can be in a unique position to capitalise on AI for both the West and the East - making Malaysia a hub of AI for the world."

"We're activating data, that's what we do. By activating data, what I mean is we want to make sure that AI is governable, that there's context - data and tools and processes - associated with AI. I'm really excited about how Boomi can be used by just about anybody to create all sorts of systems that use AI and context together."

"We spent a beautiful four hours in Malaysia on the lake, and we had a great time with Telcowin. We were able to show a sneak peek of what's coming out from Boomi next month - a developer offering that I think our partners and customers are going to be incredibly excited about. It's going to rapidly accelerate how fast our partners and customers can be."

Key Takeaways
  • Connected data comes before AI. AI delivers greater value when information flows seamlessly across systems and departments.
  • Malaysia is well positioned for AI growth. Continued investment in digital infrastructure and talent development presents significant opportunities for both the public and private sectors.
  • Integration unlocks innovation. Connecting existing applications allows organisations to modernise without replacing everything they already have.
  • The future workforce matters. AI adoption must be matched with investments in digital skills, capability building, and organisational readiness.
  • Ideas can become reality faster than ever. A live application built in just 26 minutes demonstrated how AI and connected data can dramatically accelerate innovation.
