What we did at Taman Tugu
As part of our CSR commitment to ESG and SDG initiatives, Telcowinners collaborated with YouthCare Malaysia and Free Tree Society in 2025 at Taman Tugu Kuala Lumpur, planting trees to support reforestation and protect the forest reserve for future generations.
Taman Tugu sits on 66 acres of reclaimed land in the middle of Kuala Lumpur - once neglected, now being restored into a public urban forest park. Reforestation there is slow, physical work: clearing invasive growth, preparing soil, planting native saplings, and mulching so they survive their first dry season.
Our volunteers worked alongside Free Tree Society's horticulturists, who guided the team on native species selection and planting technique, and YouthCare Malaysia, who mobilised young volunteers for the day. It was a small contribution to a long-term restoration effort - but one that put our people's hands in the soil rather than just their names on a pledge.
